That's no reason giving up composing.
Your brother probably don't like your genre of music.
Don't let you convice.
I know, you'll return to continue, what you've began to do.

Everyone's music was crap, how you name it. (I don't think so)
But everyone is going to be better with every song he composes.
You've got really much talent. In your age, I was worse than you.
It's a mistake to give up, because your brother said, it's crap.
If he really said that, he's really a bad brother. >:(
You shouldn't listen to him.

But if you're too weak to continue, have a nice ordinary 13 years old life though...

You shouldn't let another person's comments get you down. Through life, it is bound to happen. There will be people who dislike you or your music, even family members. There is no way that everyone will enjoy your compositions. Not everyone likes Nobuo Uematsu for example. I know people who have said that they dislike his music and that it is completely overrated. So what? They are entitled to their own opinion.

The point here is that you've got to persevere, and this goes far outside of music. Einstein was called an idiot as a child and ended up proposing the theory of relativity. Many musicians have gotten on stages only to have tomatoes and glass bottles thrown at them while being boo'd at. Yet some of those same musicians go on to make it big.

If you continue to compose music and put aside what other people have to say, then you very well may find great success in the future. But one thing is certain; if you give up now, then there is absolutely NO CHANCE whatsoever that you will find success.

I urge you here and now. If music is truly something that you love. Something that you feel you want to express to the world...Than do not give up. You have years before you even are an adult. The amount you could improve in that time is amazing.

An ordinary life of a 13 year old is boring. If you are satisfied with never grasping your potential, however, I cannot stop you. Best of luck with whatever you choose.
